HOME OF THE SHINERS

The Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation is located on the banks of the Ohio River in Southeastern Indiana.  The County seat of Ohio County is Rising Sun.  The city sits approximately 40 miles down the river from Cincinnati, Ohio.  The Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky international Airport is 30 miles away.

Rising Sun-Ohio County School Corporation is a small rural school district consisting of two schools;  The Ohio County elementary-Middle School (grades K-8) and the Rising Sun High School (grades 9-12).  Both buildings are located on the same campus.  The district has a tradition in both academics and extracurricular activities.

Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation is a member of the (ROD) Ripley, Ohio, Dearborn Special Services Cooperative, Wilson Education Center, regional education center, and the Southeastern Career Center vocational cooperative.  Each organization provide services that individual area school corporations could not provide on their own.
