Dear Parent:
At Rising Sun-Ohio County Community Schools we are concerned about keeping our students and staff as free as possible from the flu and other communicable infections. Our teaching and cleaning staff do many things routinely to accomplish this goal. These include such items as disinfecting furniture, hand washing discussions with students and disinfecting locker rooms and equipment. There are several things you can do at home to help us keep down illness and infection. The most effective way is to require hand washing. Regular hand washing is probably one of the most important aspects of keeping down the number of colds and infections. Please stress to your student that the hands should be washed for at least 15 seconds making sure that both the palm and the back of the hand are washed as well as between the fingers and under the nails. Keep bathrooms and fixtures clean and disinfected. Discourage the sharing of towels, razors, clothing and other personal care items. Keep cuts and abrasions covered with a clean, dry bandage. Always wash your hands:
